At 2:30pm start your guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the “City of Kings”. This excursion offers the best combination of the different attractions in Lima and its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary. Day 3 – Flight to Cusco – Cusco Sightseeing Tour

Breakfast at your hotel; transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital of the Incas. Upon arrival to Cusco; reception and transfer to your Hotel – free morning to get acclimatization
After lunch at 1:30pm; Cusco tour including the Cathedral, Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Our tour will beginning on to the Main Square of Cusco. You’ll enter the Cathedral of Cusco and see the beautiful woodwork and colonial paintings containing extensive Incan iconography. Visit the Korikancha (Temple of the Sun) on which the Santo Domingo Convent was built. Legend says this temple was completely gold coated, which impressed the conquerors upon their arrival.
Ascend to the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman and visit the Cuidadela. This is the royal house where they admired the Sun God but also worshiped younger gods. Admire this large structure and enjoy the magnificent landscape which brings peace and tranquility. Next, visit Qenqo, the old temple of the Puma. Inside you can see a sacrificial altar made of a huge stone. At Tambomachay, you’ll see the sacred fountains of life and health. Pucapucara safeguarded the city gates and the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. The tour ends with a detailed visit of the city of Cusco – Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 4 – Sacred Valley of the Tour

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the hotel at 8:00am for your full day tour to the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, explore the beautiful Peruvian countryside with a full-day tour of the magical Sacred Valley. First place, you will visit the town of Pisaq, famous for its bustling market. This native town was once where “exchange transactions” took place. In this type of transaction, customers would exchange one good for another instead of using currency. Visit the market of Pisaq where you can purchase beautifully crafted products hand-made by the locals. On Sunday, the main attraction is a mass celebrated in Quechua and conducted in Spanish. It is attended by the mayors and their attendants who play traditional musical instruments called “pututos.”
Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a typical Peruvian lunch (included in price) before visiting the fortress of Ollantaytambo.
Next, you will visit the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo fortress. These magnificent ancient ruins serve as great vantage points to look out over the valley.
Originally the royal estate of Emperor Pachakuteq during the Inca Empire, this site later served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui in the Inca´s final rebellion against the Spanish.
Stop in Ollantaytambo where you’ll take train to Aguas Calientes; upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, reception and transfer to the hotel – Overnight at Aguas Calientes Hotel

Day 5 – Full Day Machu Picchu & Back to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; full day Excursion to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes, early transfer at 5:30am to the Bus Stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure.
Then, you will have time to perform some of the following activities by yourself (not included in the price):
1. Climb to Wayna Picchu; for the most adventurous people, we suggest to go up the Wayna Picchu from where you can appreciate the immensity of Machu Picchu, even more amazing being high and distant.
2. Walk to Sun Gate; opportunity to walk (approx. 1 hour) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku)

Day 6 – Bus to Puno

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the hotel at 07:00am and transfer to the Bus Station to head off to Puno. Beautiful scenery all along the way, visit of the Raqchi and archeological sites as well as Andahuaylillas village and its famous “Sixteen Chapel” that was built in the middle of the 17th century. Day 7 – Lake Titicaca – Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the Hotel at 7:30am we take a two-hour motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique Floating “Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called “Totora”. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, down through the generations. Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we will have a lunch. Then we will walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6km long island.
In the afternoon, return to Puno – Overnight at Puno Hotel

Day 8 – Puno Depart – Visit Sillustani – Lima International departure

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the Hotel and transfer to the airport and on the way visit the Sillustani tombs. These Tombs or Chullpas are characterized by their round and square bases, as well as the cornice on top. There are several figures and symbols on these tombs, the snake being the most representative. This symbolizes the influence of the jungle and not of the Andes.

Day 7 – Flight to Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata Lodge

Breakfast at the hotel; transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado; upon arrival from Cusco, reception by an English speaking guide and transfer by car one hour along a dirt road to Puerto Nuevo (Port) in the Native Community of Infierno from where we board our boat one and a half hour along the Tambopata River to reach the lodge. The lodge is located on the inside the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve and Bahuaja Sonene National Park. Along the journey by boat you have the opportunity to appreciate the flora along the River bank made up principally of cañabravales, cecropias, ficus, as well as the fauna such as birds.
Once in our Lodge you’ll be received by the administrator and your guide will indicate the best ways for you to enjoy your stay, later showing you the different areas of the lodge. After Lunch the guide will lead you on a walk to observe the flora and fauna in the vicinity of the lodge. Day 8 – Parrot Clay Lick – Native Community – Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake

Breakfast; leave early in the morning by boat to observe the activity of the birds (psitácidos, macaws, parrots and parraquits). The “La Torre” clay lick is similar to the rest of the salt licks along the Tambopata River, comprising of an embankment on the side of the river with a height of 4m and a length of 20m. Then visit Native Community Farm; where you will have the opportunity to learn about farming directly from a local farmer and will get an introduction to the various exotic fruits of the Amazon such as copazú, arazá, pijuayo, and yuca, as well as species such as, el pajillo y sacha cilantro. In the afternoon downriver for 15 minutes to start a 45 minute walk to reach the Tres Chimbadas Lake. On the lake we will board a traditional catamarán which functions with oars, allowing us to travel around the lake. This lake is home to a family of Giant River Otters which means we frequently get the chance to observe them. There will also be a demonstration of the traditional fishing methods during which you may get the chance to see the famous pirana fish – Overnight at Inotawa Lodge

Day 9 – Cocococha Oxbow Lake

Breakfast; Cocococha Lake is found inside the Tambopata National Reserve, and occupies an area of 60 hectares. If you put together the beautiful landscape, the high biodiversity in the area and the isolation of the lake, it is certain that the lake represents an important habitat for many species. Thus providing valuable food sources and allowing for the reproduction of various endangered species, many of which are emblems of the Amazon such as the macaws (ara sp), the black caiman, (Melanosuchus Níger) and the giant river otter (Pteronura brasilensis). At dusk accompanied by your guide where you will have the chance to enjoy the night time noises, a storm or the southern constellations such as the scorpion, and the Southern cross. We will take a reflector with us in the boat just in case we come across the night time activity of the caiman, capybaras, chotacabras in the River Tambopata– Overnight at Inotawa Lodge

Day 3 – Flight to Puno (Juliaca) – Visit Sillustani

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from Lima hotel and transfer to Lima airport for departure flight to Juliaca (Puno) upon arrival reception and transfer to Puno. On the way to Puno city, visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, 12 m/40ft high stone cylinder burial chambers, used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders. Lake Umayo, located in front of the Chullpas, adds further beauty to the place. Day 4 – Uros Floating Island and Overnight at Amantani

Breakfast at the hotel; two days excursion to Lake Titicaca pick up from your Hotel at 8:15am take a two-hour motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique Floating “Islands” of the Uros. It is necessary to go up a stairway of more than 567 steps – streaks of stone that wind their way among greenery platforms – to arrive at the town of Taquile. Day 8 – Transportation to Km 82 – Wayllabamba

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the Hotel at 6:00am and drive to Km 82 the head of the Inca Trail. We begin our hike by crossing the bridge over the Urubamba River and walking along its left shore as it flows northwest. Following the trail along a flat terrain, we arrive in Miskay (2800m/9184 ft) to then ascend and finally see, from the tallest part of an overlook, the impressive Inca city of Llactapata (2650m/8692 ft). We continue trekking along the valley created by the Kusichaca River, gradually climbing for about five hours until we reach the community of Wayllabamba, our first camping.

Day 9 – Wayllabamba – Pacaymayo

Breakfast; we begin the most difficult part of the trek, which consists of an abrupt and steep ascent that stretches for 9 km along this climb. The first pass Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman´s 4200m/13776 ft) we may see domesticated llamas and alpacas grazing on ichu, one of the few plants that grow at high altitude. Walking down and cross an area of the so called cloud forest, which is the habitat for many different kinds of birds like hummingbirds and sparrows, and the Andean bear. We advise that on this day specially, your daypack is well stocked with candies, chocolates and coca leaves that will keep your sugar level high, and help with altitude sickness. We descend into the Pacaymayo (3600m/11808 ft), where we camp.

Day 10 – Pacaymayo – Wiñay Wayna

Breakfast; we ascend again past the Inca site of Runkuracay (3970m/13022 ft). As we reach the second pass, the landscape opens onto spectacular new views to the snow peaks of the Pumasillo range. Then we descend towards Yanacocha and enter the cloud forest to finally arrive at Sayacmarca. This is a beautiful complex made up of a semicircular construction, enclosures at different levels, narrow streets, liturgical fountains, patios and irrigation canals. Continuing up an easy climb to the third pass Phuyupatamarca, continue our trek down the long descending stone steps that lead us to Wiñay wayna (2650m/8692 ft) where we spend our last camping.

Day 11 – Wiñay wayna – Visit Machu Picchu – Back to Cusco

Breakfast; we wake up at 4:00am an hour later and climb to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) from this fabulous spot, we may see the sunrise over the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu (2400m/7872 ft). From here we descend into Machu Picchu, 40 minutes later we enter the citadel from the highest point through the “House of the Guardians”. We then descend to the control point where we register ourselves and leave our backpacks.Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure.
Then, you will have time to perform some of the following activity by yourself (not included in the price):1. Day 3 – Flight to Cusco / Cusco Sightseeing Tour

Day 4 – Moray & Maras Terraces of Salt Hike

Breakfast at the hotel; pick you up from the Hotel at 9:00am and transfer direction to the Sacred Valley; we start across the fertile plain of Chinchero rich with grain, potatoes & beans. Start walking in the little town of Maras; we arrive at the circular Inca ruins of Moray. In nearby Moray you find “the Inca laboratory” then we drop down into the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the salt pans of Salineras. Here more than 5000 terraces are still in production and many families of Maras bring their salt to the market of Urubamba on mules. These salt-pans were mentioned in conquering Spanish’s chronicles. We finally meet our vehicle again beside the Urubamba River for the drive back to Cusco. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 5 – Cusco, Cachora / Chiquisca

Pick up from the Hotel at 5:00am and transfer in our private transportation to Cachora (2850m/9348ft) the journey will take around 4hrs. While the group is having breakfast the crew will arrange the horses for the trek. We start to walk from Cachora observing the majestic Padrayoc snow covered peak, the highest (5482m/17980ft). The hike on this first day is 16 km around 6hrs walking starts by flat part. From the viewpoint of Capuliyoc where it might see condors, the descent towards the Apurímac Canyon, and the vegetation changes from Agave and Tunacactus to dwarf tree forest, having lunch at Cocamasana, then we continue to Chiquisqa (1950m/6398ft), campsite in Chiquisca

Day 6 – Chiquisca / Choquequirao Archeological Site

Breakfast; early in the morning we start to walk from here and continue the descent to the abundant Apurímac River (1550m/5028ft) in the impressing deep canyon of the same name. After a short rest continue the hike going up to Choquequirao Archeological Site. The first 2-3 hours are going up steep until Santa Rosa, then it will change between flat and climb the rest of the way surrounded by beautiful vegetation with several varieties of orchids. Lunch at Maranpata (2850m/9348ft) then continue to Choquequirao (3033m/9948ft) after 2hrs walking arrival to our camping place from where we have a spectacular view of the canyon, it is also possible to see Andean Condors soaring in the mountains. Day 7 – Explore Choquequirao

Breakfast; this day enjoying a complete guided tour of the Choquequirao complex means “Cradle of Gold” visiting the high parts (Hanan), and the lower parts (Urin), and some areas that are still covered in wild foliage and ready to be restored into the way it was when the Incas owned it. The steep mountainside below the main plaza features several clusters of newly-discovered buildings, including the so-called Ridge Group, and the Waterfall Temple, an intriguing ceremonial complex facing the cascades of a steep ravine.

Day 8 – Choquequirao / Maizal

Breakfast; on this day trekkers walk uphill for a while up to 3400m/11152ft the first Choquequirao pass and then descending to Rio Blanco (1909m/6262ft), first walking through cloud forest, arriving to Pinchayunuyoc Arquelogical site. Resting and observing basically on the old Inca Terraces the flora and fauna; arrival to the Rio Blanco or white river to have a break some rest, swim and lunch. After the lunch starting the hike up the steep climbing up to Maizal village high over the river close to the sacred Apus of the Incas for about 3 hrs, camping in Maizal (3400m/11152ft)

Day 9 – Maizal / Yanama

Breakfast; from here start walking uphill passing by the impressive Inca mines called Minas Victoria and towards the Victoria Pass (4200m/13776ft). A long climb the trail, walking in an amazingly beautiful area first with cloud forest and then over Andean Puna with the well known Ichu grass, trekkers can appreciate original paved Inca trails until Victoria Pass. Taking the box lunch at the pass in 4200m/13776ft with view of the mountain Choquetakarpo, trekkers can appreciate the flight of the condors depending on the climate, and finally descending to Yanama community (3500m/11480ft) where we spend the night.

Day 10 – Yanama / Colpapampa

Continuing from Yanama up through the valley towards the highest point of the tour, once more having the chance to see condors and this morning smooth climb bring through new landscapes –crossing small wood/dirt bridges on the way towards the community of Totora where we have the lunch, then continue to Colpapampa (2890m/9479ft), our camping site, a beautiful spot with some natural hot springs to relax in

Day 11 – Colpapampa / Lucmabamba

Breakfast; today we continue our hike with an easy walk along the Santa Teresa River, enjoying the increasingly lush vegetation, passing waterfalls, passion fruit and coffee plantations. We pass the waterfalls at Coripacchi, the settlement at Wiñaypoko, and then we continue to La Playa (2155m/7068ft) where we have our lunch, after lunch we continue until Lucmabamba

Day 12 – Lucmabamba / LLaqtapata / Aguas Calientes

Breakfast; start climbing for around 3hrs up to El Mirador or Abra Q’elloqasa (2860m/9381ft) from where we have an exceptional view of the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, from a different angle. Then we continue to Llaqtapata archeological site (2650m/8692ft) from where we can view both Machu Picchu and the Salkantay Mountain and take a good rest, enjoying the added value of the Llactapata, which have recently been restored. A 2hrs descent towards the Aobamba River crossing lush bamboo forests and more orchards and coffee plantations brings us to the hydroelectric plant of Machu Picchu from where we board a train that takes us to Aguas Calientes (short, scenic 40-minutes train ride), overnight at Aguas Calientes Hotel

Breakfast at the hotel; this tour is a full day visit to the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, covering the visit Pisaq and Ollantaytambo archaeological sites. The first visit at the village of Qorao where is possible to take beautiful pictures of the landscapes from a lookout site. The next visiting is Pisaq (archaeological site and Indian market). Lunch at Sacred Valley, after lunch, visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Back to Cusco.

Day 3 – Moray – Maras (by Bike)

Breakfast at the Hotel; we start our tour leaving Cusco at 8:30am in the morning to catch the bus which takes us to Chequerec (Chinchero). The bus ride takes approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes. There we start our cross adventure passing the lagoon of Huaypo to the archeological complex of moray where we enjoy the breath-taking view. Continuing our tour we’ll arrive Maras where the downhill part of approx. 1 hour begins. Afterwards we enjoy a tasty lunch-picnic to get new power to go on with the tour to the terraces of salt near Maras. From Maras to the terraces is downhill of 40 minutes length. After visiting this interesting site we continue our ride down to the sacred valley for circa 40 minutes (Pichingoto, Tarabamba). Then we take the bus to our camp in Calca near the hot springs called Machacancha.
The whole trip is of about 40 kilometers and takes 4 to 5 hours approx. After a delicious dinner you can relax while taking a bath in the hot springs.

Day 4 – Machacancha – Lares (by Bike)

At 7:00am in the morning we will serve you a “good morning tea” to wake up the animal spirits. At 8:00am breakfast is ready. We start our tour at approx. 9:00am to the defile of Lares, that is located at an altitude of circa 4.30am and one and a half hour from our camp in Machacancha. From the defile of Lares we ride downhill for approx. 20 minutes (20km) to the community of Pampa corral (rural community). There we enjoy a tasty lunch and a short break to get new power for the second part of our trip today.
After the lunch we continue our incredible tour to Lares, 20km uphill via road to arrive the district of Lares. There are 20km left to get to the village of Lares (4 hours approx. Of full action) our camp for tonight is situated in the area of the hot springs, located 10 minutes from Lares. So if you want you can take a bath to relax

Day 5 – Desfile of Lares – Calca (by Bike) / Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes

At 9:00am we take the bus which brings us back to the defile of lares (approx. 1 ½ hour). Then the amusing part of our journey can begin, the 10km downhill via horseshoe routes and ancient Inca trails, passing bridges and tombs, down to the community of Torota.
After a delicious lunch we will ride 10km down to Calca, via path, passing Machacancha to Calca for approx. 3 hours.
Then we take the transportation to Ollantaytambo (takes around 45 minute) where we catch the Train to Aguas Calientes; Overnight at Aguas Calientes Hotel

Day 3 – Flight to Puno / Visit Sillustani

Breakfast at the hotel; transfer to the airport for departure flight to Juliaca (Puno) upon arrival reception and transfer to Puno. On the way to Puno city, visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, 12 m/40ft high stone cylinder burial chambers, used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders. Lake Umayo, located in front of the Chullpas, adds further beauty to the place. Here you also have the opportunity to observe wild guinea pigs, birds and other local wildlife. Overnight at Puno Hotel

Day 4 – Lake Titicaca | Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island

Breakfast at the hotel; Lake Titicaca Excursion Full Day, we take a two-hour motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique Floating “Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called “Totora”. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, down through the generations. Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we will have a lunch. Then we will walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6km long island. In the afternoon, return to Puno, Overnight at Puno hotel

Day 5 – Bus to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; transfer to the bus station to head off to Cusco. Beautiful scenery all along the way, visit of the Raqchi and archeological sites as well as Andahuaylillas village and its famous “Sixteen Chapel” that was built in the middle of the 17th century. Lunch in Sicuani and overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 7 – Cusco / Km 82 / Wayllabamba

Breakfast at the hotel; Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 day, pick up from the Hotel at 6:00am drive to Km 82 which is the starting point of the Inca Trail. We begin our hike by crossing the bridge over the Urubamba River and walking along its left shore as it flows northwest. Following the trail along a flat terrain, we arrive in Miskay (2800m/9184ft), to then ascend and finally see, from the tallest part of an overlook, the impressive Inca city of Llactapata (2650m/8692ft). We continue trekking along the valley created by the Kusichaca River, gradually climbing for about five hours until we reach the community of Wayllabamba (3000m/9840ft), where we set our first camp.

Day 8 – Wayllabamba / Pacaymayu

Breakfast early morning; we begin the most difficult part of the trek, which consists of an abrupt and steep ascent that stretches for 9 km along this climb. On the way to the first mountain pass, the Abra Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman´s Pass – 4200m/13776ft), we may see domesticated llamas and alpacas grazing on ichu, one of the few plants that grow at high altitude. We also cross an area of the so called cloud forest, which is the habitat for many different kinds of birds like hummingbirds and sparrows, and the Andean bear. Day 9 – Pacaymayu / Wiñay Wayna

After breakfast; we ascend again past the small Inca site of Runkuracay (3970m/13022ft). As we reach the second pass, the landscape opens onto spectacular new views to the snow peaks of the Pumasillo range. Then we descend towards Yanacocha and enter the cloud forest to finally arrive at Sayacmarca (3624m/11887ft). This is a beautiful complex made up of a semicircular construction, enclosures at different levels, narrow streets, liturgical fountains, patios and irrigation canals. Continuing up an easy climb to the third pass Abra Phuyupatamarca (3700m/12136ft), we go through an Inca tunnel to later arrive at the aforementioned pass and down to the complex of the same name. Continue our trek down the long descending stone steps that lead us to Wiñaywayna (2650m/8692ft), an impressive Inca complex made up of an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector and an urban sector, close to which our camp is located.

Day 10 – Wiñay wayna / Machu Picchu

Breakfast very early; we wake up at 4:00am an hour later and climb to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) from this fabulous spot, we may see the sunrise over the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu 2,400 m (7,872 ft). From here we descend into Machu Picchu, 40 minutes later we enter the citadel from the highest point through the “House of the Guardians”. We then descend to the control point where we register ourselves and leave our backpacks. We immediately begin a complete guided tour of the Inca citadel that will take approximately two hours. You will then have free time to walk around, climb the Wayna Picchu Mountain, where one can experience spectacular views of all of Machu Picchu, the valleys and mountains that surround it, or visit the Temple of the Moon or the impressive Inca Bridge. In the afternoon, we meet in the town of Aguas Calientes where we take the train back to Poroy Train Station and transfer to your Cusco hotel. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 12 – Arrival to Puerto Maldonado / Posada Amazonas

Breakfast at the hotel; transfer to the airport for departure flight to Puerto Maldonado upon arrival from Cusco, reception by an English speaking guide, while enjoying your first taste of the forest in our gardens we will ask you to pack only the necessary gear for your next few days, and leave the rest at our safe deposit. Drive 20km (12, 42 miles) to the Tambopata River Port, entering the Native Community of Infierno. The 2 ½ hours boat ride from the Tambopata Port to Posada Amazonas will take us past the Community of Infierno and the Tambopata National Reserve´s checkpoint and into the buffer zone of this 1.3 million hectare conservation unit. Upon arrival, the lodge manager will welcome you and brief you with important navigation and security tips.
Caiman searches. We will be out at the river’s edge at night, scanning the shores with headlamps and flashlights to catch the red gleams of reflection from caiman eyes.

Day 13 – Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake / Ethnobotanical Tour

Breakfast at the lodge; Tres Chimbadas is thirty minutes by boat and forty five minutes hiking from Posada Amazonas. Once there you will paddle around the lake in a catamaran, searching for the resident family of nine giant river otters (seen by 60% of our lake visitors) and other lakeside wildlife such as caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers. Ethnobotanical Tour; a twenty minute boat drive downriver leads you to a trail designed by the staff of the Centro Ñape. The Centro Ñape is a communal organization that produces medicines out of forest plants and administers them to patients who choose their little clinic. They have produced a trail which explains the different medicinal (and other) uses of selected plants. Night walk: You will have the option of hiking out at night, when most of the mammals are active but rarely seen. Overnight in Posada Amazonas

Day 14 – Parrot clay lick / Ceiba Trail Hike

Parrot clay lick; this clay lick is only a twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas. From a blind located about twenty meters away you will see dozens of parrots and parakeets descend on most clear mornings to ingest the clay on a river bank. Species such as Mealy and Yellow-headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky headed Parakeet descend at this clay lick.
Breakfast; Ceiba Trail Hike; we leave from the lobby at Posada Amazonas and embark on a two hour hike crowned by the largest tree in the vicinity: a giant ceiba tree. During the hike we will focus on the natural history of the rain forest and its principal taxonomic groups. Farm visit; a thirty minute boat drive downriver takes us to the most complete farm in the community of Infierno. The owner grows a diverse variety of popular and unknown Amazon crops. In his garden, just about every plant and tree serves a purpose. Overnight in Posada Amazonas

Day 15 – Departure from Lodge / Lima International departure

Pick up from the Hotel at 1:00pm, guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the “City of Kings”. This excursion offers the best combination of the different attractions in Lima and its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary. In Lima, there were several different pre-Columbian cultures which are dated thousands of years back. Lima was part of the Inca Empire until was founded by the Spaniard Francisco Pizarro on the 18th of January, 1535. Overnight at Lima Hotel

Day 3 – Flight to Puerto Maldonado / Tambopata Lodge

Breakfast at the Hotel; Tambopata Parrot Clay Lick & Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake 3 Day /2 Night trip, pick up from the Hotel and transfer to the Lima airport to your flight to Puerto Maldonado, upon arrival reception, assistance and transfer to the hotel to our office in Puerto Maldonado where the formalities of registration will take place, then drive along a dirt road to reach the Port of Native Community of Infierno where we board the boat along the Tambopata River to reach our lodge located on the banks of the Tambopata River inside the buffer zone of the Tambopata Candamo and the Bahuaja Sonene National Park. We appreciate cañabravales, cecropias, ficus, as well as the fauna such as birds which live close to the rivers. We may see weaving birds with their nests high up in the trees, and garzas along with a number of different other types of birds which may cross our path in flight such as macaws, parrots and tucans. In the afternoon the guide will lead you on a walk to observe the flora and fauna in the vicinity of the lodge. Return to the lodge for a delicious traditional Dinner, overnight at the Lodge.

Day 4 – Colpa La Torre / Native Community Farm / Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake

Breakfast at the lodge; early morning we take the boat to observe the activity of the birds (psitácidos, macaws, parrots and parraquits) at the nearby clay lick where we occasionally we get the chance to see deer, capybara and squirrels as well. The “La Torre” clay lick is similar to the rest of the salt licks along the Tambopata River, comprising of an embankment on the side of the river with a height of 4mts and a length of 20mts. At the site we find a hide-out or observation look-out situated approximately 30mts from the clay wall which allows us an excellent observation point from which to view the activity.
Then we visit Native Community Farm; this region local people practice traditional methods of farming. You will have the opportunity to learn about farming directly from a local farmer and will get an introduction to the various exotic fruits of the Amazon such as copazú, arazá, pijuayo, and yuca, as well as species such as, el pajillo y sacha cilantro. Also found on the farm are various medicinal plants like el piñón, caña caña, piri piri, all of which are commonly used by people in the communities. Return to the lodge to enjoy lunch before travelling downriver for 15 minutes to start a 45 minute walk to reach the Tres Chimbadas Lake. On the lake we will board a traditional catamarán which functions with oars. Various birds such as the shanshos, pato aguja, garzas, martín pescador, some reptiles and mammals make use of the lake. Also importantly the lake is home to a family of Giant River Otters which means we frequently get the chance to observe them. Giant river otters are an endangered species and many people come to this region of the rainforest in order to catch a glimpse of them in their natural environment. There will also be a demonstration of the traditional fishing methods during which you may get the chance to see the famous Piraña fish. In the afternoon back our lodge. Overnight at the Lodge

Day 5 – Departure to Cusco from the Jungle

Breakfast at the lodge; we return to our office in Puerto Maldonado before leaving for the airport, where your guide will help you with the requirements for your flight to Cusco.

Day 6 – Cusco Sightseeing Tour

At 1:30pm pick up from the Hotel; guided sightseeing tour in Cusco like Koricancha temple of Sun the most important shrines during the Incas time. Visit the Cathedral the most imposing church at the main square. The tour keeps going to Sacsayhuaman, this site is a megalithic work made by the Incas; it stands on a hill looming over the city to the north-yet even these enormous stones are filled with that extraordinary Inca perfection. The next sightseeing is named Qenqo, it shows a singular limestone outcrop, which was used to religious cult. The tour finishes visiting Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 7 – Cusco / Sacred Valley of the Incas

Breakfast at the hotel; this tour is a full day visit to the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, covering the visit Pisaq and Ollantaytambo archaeological sites. The first visit at the village of Qorao where is possible to take beautiful pictures of the landscapes from a lookout site. The next visiting is Pisaq (archaeological site and Indian market). Lunch at Sacred Valley, after lunch, visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Stop in Ollantaytambo where we spend the night. Overnight at Ollantaytambo Hotel

Day 8 – Machu Picchu / Back to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; full day Excursion to Machu Picchu, early transfer to the nearby train station to Ollantaytambo for the train journey to the mysterious lost city of Machu Picchu, upon arrival transfer to the Bus Stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intiwatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure.
Opportunity to walk (approx 1 hour) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, with a magnificent view of the whole Sanctuary, return in the afternoon by train to Cusco and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 10 – Lake Titicaca / Uros Floating Island and Overnight in Amantani

Breakfast at the hotel; Lake Titicaca 2 Day/1 night pick up from the Hotel take a two-hour motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique Floating “Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called “Totora”. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. Continue the motor boat trip to Amantani Island. This island is inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives still governed by their ancient traditions, whose main occupations are the production of ceramics and textiles. Breakfast at the familiar house; you have time to stroll at leisure through the quaint streets of this colourful island. Late morning, take a motor-boat to Taquile Island, also inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, down through the generations. It is necessary to go up a stairway of more than 567 steps – streaks of stone that wind their way among greenery platforms – to arrive at the town of Taquile. Lunch at Taquile, and then take a walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6km long island in the afternoon back to Puno. Overnight at Puno Hotel

Day 4 – Tambopata / Cocococha Lake

Breakfast at the lodge; is found inside the Tambopata National Reserve, and occupies an area of 60 hectares. If you put together the beautiful landscape, the high biodiversity in the area and the isolation of the lake, it is certain that the lake represents an important habitat for many species. Thus providing valuable food sources and allowing for the reproduction of various endangered species, many of which are emblems of the Amazon such as the macaws, the black caiman, and the giant river otter. As you will appreciate this lake represents a very special place giving you the chance to experience some unspoilt tourism.
At dusk accompanied by your guide where you will have the chance to enjoy the night time noises, a storm or the southern constellations such as the scorpion, and the Southern cross. We will take a reflector with us in the boat just in case we come across the night time activity of the caiman, capybaras, chotacabras in the River Tambopata. Overnight at the Lodge

Breakfast at the hotel; Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 day, pick up from the Hotel at 6:00am drive to Km 82 which is the starting point of the Inca Trail. We begin our hike by crossing the bridge over the Urubamba River and walking along its left shore as it flows northwest. Following the trail along a flat terrain, we arrive in Miskay (2800m/9184ft), to then ascend and finally see, from the tallest part of an overlook, the impressive Inca city of Llactapata (2650m/8692ft). We continue trekking along the valley created by the Kusichaca River, gradually climbing for about five hours until we reach the community of Wayllabamba (3000m/9840ft), where we set our first camp.

From here we descend into Machu Picchu, 40 minutes later we enter the citadel from the highest point through the “House of the Guardians”. We then descend to the control point where we register ourselves and leave our backpacks. We immediately begin a complete guided tour of the Inca citadel that will take approximately two hours. You will then have free time to walk around, climb the Wayna Picchu Mountain, where one can experience spectacular views of all of Machu Picchu, the valleys and mountains that surround it, or visit the Temple of the Moon or the impressive Inca Bridge. In the afternoon, we meet in the town of Aguas Calientes where we take the train back to Poroy train station and transfer to your Cusco hotel. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 1 – International Arrival in Lima

Assistance at your arrival to Lima International airport and transfer to your hotel, there you will receive a briefing on your tour and vouchers covering all the services included in your tour and additional information on the organization of your Peru trip.

Day 2 – Lima Sightseeing Tour

Morning free to relax; we recommend you to take a long rest and be prepared to begin with this unforgettable journey through our wonderful country. Lunch on your own
Pick up from the Hotel at 1:30pm, guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the “City of Kings”. This excursion offers the best combination of the different attractions in Lima and its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary. In Lima, there were several different pre-Columbian cultures which are dated thousands of years back. Lima was part of the Inca Empire until was founded by the Spaniard Francisco Pizarro on the 18th of January, 1535. Overnight at Lima Hotel

Day 3 – Flight to Cusco / Cusco Sightseeing Tour

Breakfast at the hotel; transfer to Lima airport for your flight to Cusco, upon arrival reception, assistance and transfer to the hotel, free morning to get acclimatized
At 1:30pm pick up from the Hotel; guided sightseeing tour in Cusco like Koricancha temple of Sun the most important shrines during the Incas time. Visit the Cathedral the most imposing church at the main square. The tour keeps going to Sacsayhuaman, this site is a megalithic work made by the Incas; it stands on a hill looming over the city to the north-yet even these enormous stones are filled with that extraordinary Inca perfection. The next sightseeing is named Qenqo, it shows a singular limestone outcrop, which was used to religious cult. The tour finishes visiting Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 4 – Urubamba River Rafting

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the Hotel at 8:30am, after one and a half hours drive we arrive to the put -in at the shores of the Upper Urubamba River, at “CASA CUSI” our private campground. Our professional Rafting Guides will give you a safety talk and provide you with all the proper equipment for Rafting. We would be floating for approximately two and a half hours, running class II and III rapids, introductory type rapids. Afterwards, we arrive to the take out where our private bus will be waiting for us to take us back to CASA CUSI, where a hot Sauna will be waiting and a full course lunch will be provided. Our return to Cusco should be around 5:00pm in the afternoon. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 5 – Mountain Biking Moray & Maras Salt Mines

Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the Hotel at 8:00am then take one hour and 20 minutes takes the bus ride to the village called chequerec (Chinchero) where we start our ride. Passing the lagoon of Huaypo; you will see a spectacular panorama of patches of fields that melt into the snow-capped peaks of the Cordilleras Urubamba and Vilcabamba. On bicycle (an easy flat ride first, then slowly ascending, and finally becoming a moderate descent), ride to the archeological site of Moray; we arrive to the Archeological Site of Moray. Continuing our trip we arrive to Maras where a tasty picnic is waiting for us. Afterwards a 1 hour downhill ride let us feel the peace of the Andean countryside. So enjoy your freedom. After this great lunch you have new energies to go on riding to the terraces of salt in Maras and then to start again a downhill of 40 minutes approx. To the Sacred Valley (Pichingoto), where the end point of our magnificent bike tour, we return to Cusco at approx. 4:30pm. Overnight at Cusco Hotel

Day 6 – Cusco / Soraypampa to Huayracmachay

Pick up from the Hotel at 4:00am in a private transport and start a scenic morning to our trek starting point at Soraypampa. The road goes up a beaten track along the right shore of the Apurimac River and crosses the town of Mollepata (2800m/9184ft) and Cruzpata to finally reach Soraypampa (3800m/12464ft), the starting point of the trek. We start our hike towards the base of Mt. Salcantay, crossing Salcantaypampa, and then starting a 2 hrs steep ascent to Soyroccocha, just next to the impressive glacier of Salcantay. Continuing uphill, we reach the highest point of the trek Abra Huayracmachay (4525m/14846ft). From this point, we start descending towards into the so-called cloud forest. Along the route, we can see the remains of an ancient Inca path, which is approximately 6 meters wide. We arrive to our camping place Huayracmachay (3,850m/12628ft)

Day 7 – Huayracmachay to Lucmabamba

Breakfast; continue our hike with an easy downhill walk along the Salcantay River, enjoying the increasingly lush vegetation, passing waterfalls, passion fruit and coffee plantations. The arid highland landscape begins to transform into a cloud forest filled with trees and bromeliads. After 3 hours we arrive at the settlement of Chaullay, and after another hour and a half, we pass the town of Colpapampa. From Colpapampa, the Salkantay River becomes the Santa Teresa River. After a rest, we continue our descent to the banks of the Totora River where we can enjoy a delicious dip in the thermo-medicinal waters. Following the Santa Teresa River, we pass the waterfalls at Coripacchi, the settlement at Wiñaypoko and finally arrive to Lucmabamba (2,100m/6888ft) campsite.

Day 8 – Lucmabamba / Llactapata / Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, walk up to Llactapata on the way we can see plantations of banana, coffee, and avocado, as well as exuberant local flora. We enter spectacled-bear territory and we will probably be accompanied by flocks of parrots as we descend. We cross the river and start climbing for 2-3 hours up to Abra Q’elloqasa (2860m/9381ft) from where we have an exceptional view of Machu Picchu. We enjoy amazing view from Llaqtapata (2650m/8692ft) from where we can view both Machu Picchu and the Salkantay, enjoying the added value of the Llactapata archeological site, which have recently been restored. A 2-hour descent towards the Aobamba River crossing lush bamboo forests and more orchards and coffee plantations brings us to the Hydroelectric from where we board a train that takes us to Aguas Calientes (40 minutes train ride).

Day 9 – Visit Machu Picchu full day / Back to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; full day Excursion to Machu Picchu, early transfer to the Bus Stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure.
Opportunity to walk (approx 1 hour) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, with a magnificent view of the whole Sanctuary, return in the afternoon by train to Poroy train station and transfer to your Cusco hotel. Overnight at Cusco Hotel
