Itinerary:

Day 1: Cusco / Hydroelectric / Aguas Calientes

We will depart at 07:30 a.m. The tour will begin with a nice, scenic ride to Ollantaytambo, where we will have a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the area. Then we will continue to travel to The Málaga pass( 4316 meters above sea level).
After a short break we will begin to walk down towards the jungle passing for the different flats that combine paradisiac landscapes of majestic snow-capped mountains to the warm jungle, until Alfamayó we will find a road in perfect conditions with completely asphalted surface, then begins the road without asphalt.
Then we continue to the town of Santa Maria, located at 1575 meters about sea level, and on to Santa Teresa around 2:00 pm, where we will have lunch. Afterwards, at around 2:30 pm, we will return to the route in the direction of the train station at the nearby Hydroelectric Plant. The train will have us in Aguas Calientes by 6.30 pm, at which point you will be taken to the designated hostals and hotels.peru tours

Day 2: Machupicchu / Hydroelectric / Cusco

You will have the option to go up to Machu Picchu by bus or by foot.  The guided tour of the site will begin at 6:00 am and will last for at least 2 hours. Afterwards, you will be able to enjoy Machupicchu until approximately 12:00 am, which is the recommended time to begin returning down the mountain to the train station. The train back to the hydroelectric plant will be leaving Aguas Calientes at 12:00 pm.
Upon our arrival to the hydroelectric plant, we will transfer over from the train to a private van, which will take us to Santa Teresa. There, we will have a one hour break for one last chance to get some food or use the restroom . Then We will  proceed back to Cusco, returning down the same road that brought us here. We will arrive to Cusco around 9:15 pm (approx).peru tours

Day 1 – Cusco, Tambomachay / Pucamarca

Pick up from the Hotel at 6:00am, transfer to the heading to the archeological site of Tambomachay; the hike will start at this point, and will continue through puna landscapes and over the Sicllaccasa pass (4020m/13186ft). We hike along a path that leads to the Ccauca ravine, where we encounter archaeological remains and wild crops, such as tarwi, and a large quantity of cacti. We continue on to the Queullococha pass (4185m/13727ft), surrounding the area in spectacular views stand the Veronica, Pitusiray and Chicon snow peaks. We hike past the Queullococha Lake, where we may see huallatas, ducks and small fish to then climb towards the Challu Challu pass (4220m/13842ft). From this point, we observe the Chinchero plains and the Piuray and Qoricocha lagoons. We then ascend towards the fourth pass at Rumicruz (4230m/13874ft). We then make our way to the Inca rock quarry (4220m/13842ft), which was the place from where the rocks were extracted to build Huchuy Qosqo. We descend towards the Pucamarca community (4010m/13153ft), where we arrive in the afternoon. Here we dine and camp through the night.

After breakfast; we leave at 7:00am our camping place to continue to Huchuy Qosqo. Walk downhill towards the Leon Punku ravine, where we find remains of an Inca bridge and trail. This canyon boasts geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct the river to Huchuy Qosqo at (3600m/11808ft). Huchuy Qosqo is an Inca archaeological complex with imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center, from which we enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River. After explanation we start to walk around two hours to the next point (4200m/13776ft), going down around two hours until arrive to Taucca, where we have the lunch place, from here we take our private transport and back to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; full day Excursion to Machu Picchu, early transfer to the Bus Stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure.

Day 3 – Explore Choquequirao

Here we may be lucky to appreciate the flight of the Condors, the exuberant vegetation and its variety of flowers and orchids. We will have our lunch and after that we’ll continue to CHIQUISQA. Here we will spend the night on our campsite

Resting and observing basically on the old Inca Terraces the flora and fauna; arrival to the Rio Blanco or white river to have a break some rest, swim and lunch. After the lunch starting the hike up the steep climbing up to Maizal village high over the river close to the sacred Apus of the Incas for about 3 hrs, camping in Maizal (3400m/11152ft)

Day 5 – Maizal / Yanama

A long climb the trail, walking in an amazingly beautiful area first with cloud forest and then over Andean Puna with the well known Ichu grass, trekkers can appreciate original paved Inca trails until Victoria Pass. Taking the box lunch at the pass in 4200m/13776ft with view of the mountain Choquetakarpo, trekkers can appreciate the flight of the condors depending on the climate, and finally descending to Yanama community (3500m/11480ft) where we spend the night.

Day 7 – Colpapampa / Lucmabamba

We pass the waterfalls at Coripacchi, the settlement at Wiñaypoko, and then we continue to La Playa (2155m/7068ft) where we have our lunch, after lunch we continue until Lucmabamba

Day 8 – Lucmabamba / LLaqtapata / Aguas Calientes

Breakfast; start climbing for around 3hrs up to El Mirador or Abra Q’elloqasa (2860m/9381ft) from where we have an exceptional view of the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, from a different angle. Then we continue to Llaqtapata archeological site (2650m/8692ft) from where we can view both Machu Picchu and the Salkantay Mountain and take a good rest, enjoying the added value of the Llactapata, which have recently been restored. A 2hrs descent towards the Aobamba River crossing lush bamboo forests and more orchards and coffee plantations brings us to the hydroelectric plant of Machu Picchu from where we board a train that takes us to Aguas Calientes (short, scenic 40-minutes train ride) Overnight at Aguas Calientes Hotel

Day 9 – Machu Picchu / Back to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; full day Excursion to Machu Picchu, early transfer to the Bus Stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure.
Opportunity to walk (approx 1 hour) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, with a magnificent view of the whole Sanctuary, return in the afternoon by train to Cusco and transfer to your hotel

Day 1 – Cusco, Cachora / Chiquisca

Pick up from the Hotel at 5:00am and transfer in our private transportation to Cachora (2850m/9348ft) the journey will take around 4hrs. While the group is having breakfast the crew will arrange the horses for the trek. We start to walk from Cachora observing the majestic Padrayoc snow covered peak, the highest (5482m/17980ft). The hike on this first day is 16 km around 6hrs walking starts by flat part. From the viewpoint of Capuliyoc where it might see condors, the descent towards the Apurímac Canyon, and the vegetation changes from Agave and Tunacactus to dwarf tree forest, having lunch at Cocamasana, then we continue to Chiquisqa (1950m/6398ft), campsite in Chiquisca

Day 2 – Chiquisca / Choquequirao Archeological Site

Breakfast; early in the morning we start to walk from here and continue the descent to the abundant Apurímac River (1550m/5028ft) in the impressing deep canyon of the same name. After a short rest continue the hike going up to Choquequirao Archeological Site. The first 2-3 hours are going up steep until Santa Rosa, then it will change between flat and climb the rest of the way surrounded by beautiful vegetation with several varieties of orchids. Lunch at Maranpata (2850m/9348ft) then continue to Choquequirao (3033m/9948ft) after 2hrs walking arrival to our camping place from where we have a spectacular view of the canyon, it is also possible to see Andean Condors soaring in the mountains. Day 3 – Choquequirao / Maizal

Breakfast; on this day trekkers walk uphill for a while up to 3400m/11152ft the first Choquequirao pass and then descending to Rio Blanco (1909m/6262ft), first walking through cloud forest, arriving to Pinchayunuyoc arquelogical site. Resting and observing basically on the old Inca Terraces the flora and fauna; arrival to the Rio Blanco or white river to have a break some rest, swim and lunch. After the lunch starting the hike up the steep climbing up to Maizal village high over the river close to the sacred Apus of the Incas for about 3 hrs, camping in Maizal (3400m/11152ft)

Day 4 – Maizal / Yanama

Breakfast; from here start walking uphill passing by the impressive Inca mines called Minas Victoria and towards the Victoria Pass (4200m/13776ft). A long climb the trail, walking in an amazingly beautiful area first with cloud forest and then over Andean Puna with the well known Ichu grass, trekkers can appreciate original paved Inca trails until Victoria Pass. Taking the box lunch at the pass in 4200m/13776ft with view of the mountain Choquetakarpo, trekkers can appreciate the flight of the condors depending on the climate, and finally descending to Yanama community (3500m/11480ft) where we spend the night.

Day 5 – Yanama / Colpapampa

Breakfast; climbing slowly to the higher pass called Yanama (4550m/14924ft), again the view is amazing, trekkers are surrounded by snowcapped mountains the Mt. Sacsarayoj and Mt. Padreyoc. Continuing from Yanama up through the valley towards the highest point of the tour, once more having the chance to see condors and this morning smooth climb bring through new landscapes –crossing small wood/dirt bridges on the way towards the community of Totora where we have the lunch, then continue to Colpapampa (2890m/9479ft), our camping site, a beautiful spot with some natural hot springs to relax in

Day 6 – Colpapampa / Lucmabamba

Breakfast; today we continue our hike with an easy walk along the Santa Teresa River, enjoying the increasingly lush vegetation, passing waterfalls, passion fruit and coffee plantations. We pass the waterfalls at Coripacchi, the settlement at Wiñaypoko, and then we continue to La Playa (2155m/7068ft) where we have our lunch, after lunch we continue until Lucmabamba

Day 1 – Cusco to Tinqui / Pacchanta / Comercocha

Pick up from the hotel at 6:00am, departure from Cusco in a private transport, and drive along the Puerto Maldonado road highway in the direction of Tinqui (3800m/12464ft). Passing through towns such as Urcos, Ccatcca and finally passes through Ocongate, after an approximated 3 ½ hour drive, arriving to Tinqui head of the trail. After set up our luggage we’ll start to walk for around 3hrs towards Pacchanta (4100m/ 13448ft), where we have the lunch by hot springs at the hamlet of Pacchanta, and then continue climbing to camp in a pasture by Comercocha Lagoon (4570m/14989ft)

Day 2 – Comercocha / Quilleta

Breakfast; we follow our hike through a slight climb up past glacial tarns and isolated shepherds’ huts toward the magnificent first pass of Abra Q´ampa at (5000m/16400ft), which is reaching after about 3hrs, from the pass descending towards the Ticllaqocha Lagoon. On most treks we see troops of vicuñas (the wild, graceful relative of the llama) amid the rugged scree and glacial ice. We will trek beneath the towering west face of the Jatunjampa peaks. Continuing down the valley, a new vista opens up of the south face of Nevado Ausangate. After lunch continue the hike for an additional 2hrs until reaching near Hacienda Quilleta (4400m/14432ft) where it is setting the camp

Day 3 – Quilleta / Sibinacocha Lagoon

Breakfast; leaving the camp and start a gradual climb up to reach the summit of Condor Pass the highest point of the trek (5100m/16728ft). From the pass amazing view of valley with colored Mountains and the Sibinacocha Lagoon, hike for an additional 3hrs to cross another mountain pass on the way and then descending into the valley of the Sibinacocha Lagoon, a glacial lake some 15 km in length and 2 km wide. Flamingos may be seen along the shore. Save for the occasional stone shepherd’s hut; there is no sign of population in this vast valley.

Day 4 – Sibinacocha Lagoon / Ccascaracocha

Breakfast; hike around the head of the lake and work our way eastward into another valley of even more sublime beauty. Our destination is Ccascaracocha, a smaller lake with a fascinating concentration of high altitude Andean birds. We will observe giant coots, which build up piles of mud in the shallows to make their nests, pairs of Huallata (Andean geese), ducks, and more flamingos. Several Quechua families have permanent homes by the lakeshore where they tend enormous herds of alpacas. In this remote spot, surrounded by impressive snow-capped peaks such as Montura and Chumpi and inhabited by small rural communities

Day 5 – Climb Cerro Yayamari

Breakfast; the highlight of the trek is today’s optional scramble up Cerro Yayamari (5500m/18040ft) snow-covered peak in the centre of this breathtaking panorama of lakes and glaciated summits

Day 6 – Yayamari / Phinaya / Cusco

Breakfast; hike out to the southern end of Sibinacocha lagoon, the terminus of a new road, where our vehicle awaits in Phinaya. This is a small Andean community with a beautiful little church, where we have the lunch. After we load up, we will return to Cusco, and then transfer to your Hotel.

Qoyllur Ritty is a Quechua word that means ‘’snow that shines like a star’’. The people here are devoted to Taytacha Qoyllur Ritty (Lord of the Snow Bright). This is an old religious custom practiced only by the inhabitants of the Andes. Each year, a few days before the celebration of Corpus Christi, every small village or clan send a delegation with colorful dancers and “pabluchas’ to the Chapel of the Lord of Qoyllur Ritty. This is situated at the beginning of a mountain called Sinakara in the village of Mawayany, at 4600 meters above sea level. The pabluchas represent alpacas and are intermediaries between the Lord of Qoyllur Ritty and men. The climb to the chapel is carried out at 4 in the morning by the Sinakara herding their animals. During the party the people who participate in the procession of Nuestra Señora de Fatima will have good luck in business, life and future. The end of the procession takes place in the ancient Inca capital of Cusco with the processions of Corpus Christi, streets and squares are filled with people, music and color.

DAY 01: CUSCO – MAGUALLANI – QOYLLUR RITTY

We start at 08:00 pm and arrived at about 12.00 pm to Maguallani. There we have half an hour to prepare our things and head towards to Qoyllur Ritty which is 292 km from Cusco. Walk in the moonlight in a procession along with more than 2000 pilgrim’s devotees of Señor de Qoyllor Ritty. At about 3:00 am we arrive at our campsite where we can relax and sleep.

DAY 02: QOYLLUR RITTY

At 07:00 a.m. breakfast. Then we go to church to attend Mass daily which takes approximately half an hour. Then we began our march to the holy mountain of Qoyllor Ritty where we observe all the ancient rites and customs that they are implemented at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level. After that lunch and subsequently continue our journey between ups and downs for 4 hours in total. Arrive at the fair in which every visitor participates. At 07:00 pm dinner and then spend the night.

DAY 03: QOYLLUR RITTY – CUSCO

At 07:00 am we will have breakfast then we will appreciate the way down of the pabluchas to receive the blessing that will be at 10:00 am, walk back to Maguallani in about 2 hours. Here we will visit briefly this place , have lunch and then return to Cusco by bus or car depending on the number of pax where we arrive at approximately 04:00 PM.
